VANESSA SORENSEN

Local artist VANESSA SORENSEN, will introduce her latest book, Zen Kitty: A Cat’s Guide to Enlightenment. She will be giving an art demonstration showing her digital illustration techniques. The book, which includes 30 illustrations, is a fusion of Buddhist and feline philosophies paired with illustrations of cats in Asian brushwork styles. Some of the text references traditional haikus, while some contain allusions to well-known Buddhist philosophy.
Bring a photo of your cat to be entered into a drawing for a free brush cat illustration for one lucky customer that night. SICSA will bring kittens for adoption and Moochie & Co. will present complimentary gift bags to attending cat owners.
Vanessa Sorensen is a graduate of Beavercreek High School and holds a B.S. in Zoology from Miami University. She is currently a graphic designer and illustrator in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Science fiction writers JOHN SCALZI, author of Zoe’s Tale, and TOBIAS BUCKELL, author of Sly Mongoose will discuss their books.
