  • The Zookeeper's Wife
    by Diane Ackerman

This is an extraordinary true story of Warsaw residents Jan and Antonina Zabinsky, Polish Christian zookeepers, who hid Jews from the German occupiers in World War II. At great risk to themselves, they hid their guests among the animals in the zoo. During those war years, they saved the lives of 300 people.

  • Rhett Butler's People by Donald McCaig We all loved reading Margaret Mitchell’s classic. Gone With the Wind. Now we have a chance to hear Rhett Butler’s side of the story.
  • The Art Thief by Noah Charney

If you liked The DaVinci Code, you’re going to enjoy this book. Masterpieces are being stolen from museums in Rome, Paris, and London and the finest detectives have been called to investigate the crimes.

DEAR BOOKLOVERS,

Tuesday, July 1

The next time you’re in books&co at The Greene, you’ll notice that we’ve moved the Autographed Book Section and the Newly Released titles to the bookcases in the beginning of the Fiction Section near Joe Muggs Café. The titles on School Reading Lists and the Book Club Selections are on the opposite side of the store, along with audio books. Continuing on that side of the store, you’ll see that we’ve expanded the Bargain Book Section for both adult and children’s books, so you’ll want to browse that section also. We’re sure you’ll find something for everyone in the family.

Please remind your children to register for our Kids Summer Reading Program in our Children’s Section. Kids who complete the program get a books&co gift card. The program runs until August 9.

We are excited to be hosting former Cincinnati Reds catcher JOHNNY BENCH with his motivational book, Catch Every Ball: How to Handle Life’s Pitches, on Thursday, July 31 at 7-8:30 pm at books&co at The Greene. We’ll be giving out line numbers beginning at 6 pm that night. When asked why he created this book, Johnny replied, “After a lot of my speeches to groups as diverse as ladies clubs and fortune 500 Companies, I was always asked for a copy of my notes. It was time to put them down on paper. Hopefully, readers will find in this book something that will direct them around the ‘bases’ of life which will lead to success at home, work and in their daily lives.” For those of you who remember The Big Red Machine days, this will be a thrilling opportunity to meet the legend himself and get his signature on Catch Every Ball.

We hope you’re enjoying the summer and finding time to relax in the shade with a good book.

Thank you for being our customers. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

Warm regards,

Sharon Kelly Roth
